The cabin has been in the same family since it was built in approximately 1982. The log home was designed for strength and endurance; and can easily be renovated for use all year round as the wood log is an excellent natural insulator. In addition to the wood burning stove there are a few baseboard heaters throughout the cabin. The solid log construction is set on huge concrete blocks, and the logs have been treated a few times with “linseed oil” but may need a refresher.
The family has not used the cabin for many years, other than occasional visits; the electricity is a base cost of $30 month. The cabin has a well shared with 1 neighbor and has a septic tank, a water pump and water heater. The water has been shut off for years but was in good working condition when last used. The cabin has the older carpeting in the living room and newer laminate flooring in the kitchen and hall areas. The original kitchen with retro appliances are still used.
The seller has plans to replace the older style carpet with new laminate flooring, similar to the kitchen and hallway which have already been updated. The cabin has never experienced any physical damage and has seen minimal use over the years. An entire new roof using 30 year shingles was installed by contractor in November of 2024.
The cabin is surrounded by trees and the shady location gives welcome relief from the hot summer sun, shading the outside space, and the super insulating properties of the natural logs keep the inside cabin cool as well. It is a short walk to the unpolluted, crystal clear lake and sandy lakeshore.
Annual Taxes on the property for 2025 were $480.09. There is a Beach Association which represents the cabin owners interests. The community is fairly small offering an idyllic place to R & R.
